Dr. Ozcelik has been the scientific director of breast cancer predisposition laboratory at the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (PLM) department of Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH) for over 13 years, providing genetic testing and interpretation of BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations to high-risk familial breast cancer families of Ontario. At the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute (SLRI), he also runs a parallel research program, motivated by the discovery of genetic and genomic based diagnostic markers for the early detection and treatment of complex disorders; mainly using the breast and prostate cancer as the base model.
